Avec l'augmentation quotidienne du nombre de cas positifs de COVID-19 et l'augmentation des taux d'admission à l'hôpital et d'exposition, de nombreux prestataires de soins de santé sont confrontés à la réalité du traitement ou de l'admission de cas de COVID-19, souvent avec un accès limité aux tests.  Il est donc nécessaire d'éduquer rapidement les cliniciens et les agents de santé sur la prise en charge médicale de cette affection.

People to People, Inc. (P2P) et Anadach Group vous invitent par la présente à participer à la troisième session de notre série de webinaires « COVID-19 en Afrique : défis diagnostiques chez les adultes et les enfants, focus sur les tests », tirés de pays plus tôt dans le Pandémie que la plupart des pays africains. L'objectif de ce webinaire est de partager l'expérience clinique et de gestion et de créer une plate-forme permettant aux professionnels de la santé d'interagir sur la gestion clinique et les questions connexes dans plusieurs domaines. Étant donné que l'expérience clinique pendant la COVID-19 évolue rapidement, il est important que les cliniciens connaissent les meilleures façons de se protéger et de protéger leurs patients pendant la pandémie.

 

Le spectre clinique du COVID-19 varie des formes asymptomatiques ou pauci-symptomatiques, aux états cliniques caractérisés par une insuffisance respiratoire pouvant nécessiter une ventilation mécanique et une assistance en réanimation, aux manifestations multi-organiques et systémiques en termes de sepsis, choc septique, et syndromes de dysfonctionnement de plusieurs organes (MODS).

 

Notre série de webinaires couvrira des questions d'intérêt pour les médecins, les infirmières, les autres travailleurs de la santé et la direction impliqués dans la gestion directe des cas de COVID-19 dans leurs pays respectifs. La plupart des spécialistes exerçant hors d'Afrique ont également une expérience de la pratique médicale dans au moins un pays africain. Le premier webinaire s'est concentré sur les perspectives sur la gestion clinique d'un spécialiste des maladies infectieuses, des soins intensifs/pulmonologie et de la médecine familiale. Le deuxième webinaire s'est concentré sur la préparation des hôpitaux/établissements à une « surtension ». Les futurs webinaires couvriront d'autres spécialités.  Le prochain (quatrième) webinaire dans quinze jours portera sur « COVID19 chez les patients à haut risque » .

Dr. Kechi Achebe

MD, MPH Global Public Health & Development Executive

Dr. Kechi Achebe is an experienced and transformational public health physician, scientist,leader, and researcher, with more than 20 years of technical, programmatic, and leadership experience in public health and clinical medicine. A recognized global expert in the area ofglobal  she has worked and led the design and delivery of public health programs globally.

She is also known for driving systemic change all over the world through partnerships, multi-stakeholder collaboratives, and health workforce development initiatives. She has a proven expertise building and scaling collaborativeplatforms that unite institutions, governments, and civil society to advance health workforce capacity and youth development. She also has a distinguished track record establishing governance frameworks, synthesizing learning across networks, and mobilizing funds to transform health systems serving tens of millions of peoplein over 100 countries.

As Director of the Office of Global Health and HIV (OGHH), Dr. Achebe led the development, policy direction, design and technical support of the Peace Corps’ Global Health & HIV programs, to address malaria; maternal, newborn, and child health; HIV/AIDS services, COVID-19 and other emerging global health threats; and community health systems strengthening, in the 64 countries where PC is present. She also served as PEPFAR Deputy Principal, representingPeace Corps to the Office of the U.S. office of Global Health Security & Diplomacy (GHSD) at the State Department.

Prior to that Dr. Achebe served as the Senior Director for HIV/AIDS and TB programs, at Save the Children USA, as well as the organization’s management lead on its partnership with the Global Fund, in Geneva. Before then, she was the Director of the office of Health and HIV/AIDS at Africare, all based in Washington DC. Her extensive work experience covers Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, The Caribbeans and the USA. She has authored and has published white papers, technical support documents, and peer-reviewed publications.  

Dr. Achebe holds a medical degree (MD) from the University of Benin in Nigeria, and a master's degree in public health (MPH) from Boston University. She obtained a fellowship in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Boston University School of Medicine and Public Health and a certificate in management from Yale University’s School of Management, CT.

Her work sits at the intersection of technology, product, commercial strategy, and systems change, consistently bridging what is technically possible with what works in practice.

 

She is currently Co-founder of SoZoAi, where she leads the development of a privacy-preserving, prevention-first AI health platform focused on the areas traditional healthcare struggles most: early intervention, patient advocacy, continuity of care, and equitable access.

 

Earlier in her career, Vamshi worked in financial services at Goldman Sachs, specialising in quantitative strategies and structured products, before moving into leadership and advisory roles in technology-led ventures.

 

Alongside her operating roles, she advises startups at the intersection of deep technology, strategy, and impact—supporting founders on business model design, capital strategy, and building companies that balance commercial performance with long-term societal value.

Asad Mian, MD, PhD, leads Healthcare Transformation, Learning Programs & Systems at Evercare Group, driving hospital-wide improvement initiatives across Pakistan, Nigeria, and Kenya. After 15 years in the United States working in genetics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine, he spent over a decade at Aga Khan University in Karachi, where he chaired the department of emergency medicine and founded and successfully ran the organization's first healthcare innovation and business incubation hub.

Dr. Esther Oshunluyi

Dr. Esther Oshunluyi is a nurse educator, global health leader, and health systems
strategist with extensive experience in nursing education, population health, and
health workforce development. She has contributed to curriculum strengthening,
faculty development, and institutional capacity building at the Edo State College of
Nursing Sciences and the Edo State College of Health Sciences and Technology,
supporting innovation in health professions education within low- and middle-income
settings.


Esther’s work integrates leadership, policy, and technology to improve healthcare
delivery and education, with a growing focus on the ethical and practical application
of artificial intelligence in nursing practice, education, and health system efficiency.
Dr. Oshunluyi trained as a nurse in Nigeria, obtained her Master’s and Doctoral
degrees in the USA in Nursing Administration and Population Health leadership from
the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of San
Francisco, California respectfully.


Dr. Oshunluyi was inducted as a fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of
Nurses and Midwifes (WAPCNM) in 2021, and is the chief executive officer of H-
LEAD, a healthcare leadership advisory network.


Dr. Oshunluyi brings a strong nursing perspective to global conversations on AI,
equity, and the future of healthcare education in Africa and beyond.

Ms. Manahat Thomas

Founder of Cronos EdX, Head of strategy & Programming at Africa FinTech Summit

Manahat Thomas is the Founder and CEO of Cronos EdX, an AI-enabled education platform advancing comprehension-first learning across disciplines. Her work focuses on building context-aware, scalable learning systems that strengthen tertiary education, workforce training, and institutional capacity across Africa.

She explores how artificial intelligence can improve learning outcomes and operational efficiency, particularly in sectors facing workforce shortages, including healthcare, while ensuring ethical grounding and cultural relevance.


Manahat also serves as Head of Strategy & Programming at the Africa FinTech Summit (AFTS), where she works at the intersection of innovation, policy, and institutional transformation.

Dr. Berhanu Alemayehu

Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at the Rutgers Business School

Dr. Berhanu Alemayehu, DrPH is a health economist, applied statistician, and educator with over 20 years of experience in health economics, outcomes research, and advanced analytics. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at Rutgers Business School, teaching Business Statistics and Enterprise Architecture. He has also taught statistics at Rutgers University, Baruch College (CUNY), Lansing Community College, and the University of Texas.

Dr. Alemayehu earned his doctorate in Health Economics and Health Policy from the University of Michigan and holds an MS in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Texas. In addition to his academic career, he has held senior leadership roles at Merck, AstraZeneca, Novo Nordisk, and Medco Health Solutions, leading teams and conducting clinical and real-world data analyses across multiple therapeutic areas.

His research has had national impact, including work cited in the 2012 U.S. Supreme Court Affordable Care Act decision. He combines rigorous analytical expertise with practical industry leadership to inform healthcare policy and decision-making.
